Our story
Marks Brothers was started in Exeter in 1959 by two brothers. More than sixty years on, it's still a family business, now run by the second and third generations, and still built on the same thing: a good name for quality work, reliability and doing the job properly.
We're both qualified roofers, with 40 years' roofing experience between us. No roof is too big or too small, and we look after every part of the job from start to finish, keeping up to date with the latest rules on insulation, ventilation and safety.
What we do
Stripping, insulating, felting and battening, then natural or man-made slate, clay or concrete tiles. We handle the whole job, start to finish.
Spanish, Brazilian and Cornish Delabole slate, clay plain tiles, double Romans and cedar shingles, including salvaging and re-using original materials.
Lead bossing and lead welding, from chimney flashings to bespoke outlets, all carried out to Lead Sheet Association guidelines.
Any size or shape, using modern materials that don't need a flame or heat, which is safer. All our work is guaranteed.
Slipped or broken slates and tiles, ridges, leaking gutters, lead, roof windows, moss, condensation and rotten timber.
uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering in any colour or style, plus cast-iron-style downpipes and steel guttering.
Also: chimney repairs and rebuilds, roof windows, and general maintenance including carpentry, pointing and brickwork.

We carry out qualified aerial drone surveys of domestic and industrial roofs. You get a clear, detailed view of your roof's condition, and if you need it, a plan for what to fix now and what to keep an eye on.
